The existing kitchen, dining and living areas of this modest ranch style home felt dark and too small to comfortably accommodate a family of five.

We increased the living area by taking over a small bedroom and opened up the kitchen by removing a dividing wall. This allowed for a wide-open kitchen, living and dining areas, now well connected, spacious, comfortable and bright. The existing bathroom door was relocated for increased privacy.

The kitchen layout and cabinets were completely redesigned. Cabinet doors, appliances and lighting fixtures were selected by the owner.

 

An existing ground floor in-law-suite bedroom is now being used by a grown family member, whose bedroom was removed from the main floor, for increased privacy and comfort of the whole family.​
