An attractive family-owned lot along the busy main street was developed to provide a convenient  stop for daily coffee or evening drinks, with a number of small service shops and stores.

 

A compact 3,500sf of space with nine businesses with a playful facade was assembled along the existing path on the lot, forming a central open area with outdoor seating, with themes relating to local Mediterranean small town centers.

 

Spaces were designed with the flexibility, to enable diverse use individually or in combination, to support resiliency and longevity. 

 

The strip mall now features a well-established anchor store, a town pharmacy, which occupies two spaces. It is surrounded by an occasionally changing tourist office, a hardware store, and nail and hair salons. A thriving coffee bar in the center serves as a popular, permanent meeting space.
